This Thanksgiving holiday was one of my all-time favorites; I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older and appreciate my family time more, or if it was because I flew in to see my parents and saved roughly 10 hours by doing so.  We had an amazing meal at my grandparents' house on Thursday and went to see a movie that evening (a family tradition).  My parents and I went shopping on Black Friday – the crowds weren't too insane, and I picked up a pair of Bose acoustic noise-cancelling headphones.  (They've completely changed my flying life already, and I've only used them twice).

Here are some of the things I'm thankful for (in no way is this a comprehensive list):

*generous parents and amazing family in general

*the opportunity to live in my favorite city in the world

*a job that is flexible, and the writing opportunities i've stumbled upon this year

*friendships that have endured for as long as 13 years and continue to make me a better person

*the challenges I've faced this year and the spiritual guidance I've received along the way.  Remember:  pain that is not resisted will eventually soften.

We all have much for which to be thankful, and I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  xoxo
