I had a really refreshing weekend that included pool time with one of my oldest friends, a stack of magazines (hello, September issues!), and I even had time for a Bloody Mary from Pat O’s. I hardly ever go to the movie theatre these days, but I highly recommend reading “The Help” and then going to see the movie. I can’t remember the last time I actually liked a film when I’d already read the book, but I really enjoyed this one.
I have a busy week coming up – 3 days of work, then flying to Austin to spend time with family and friends. It seems that when I have a shortened work week, all that means is that I cram the same amount of work into a smaller amount of hours, so these next few days will definitely be interesting.
I hope that everyone has a great week and enjoyed as relaxing a weekend as I did. Also – does anyone else notice the same energy shift I’ve been feeling? Things seem to be moving at a much slower pace than usual, and there’s a difficult energy circulating in the air, but I know this too will pass. It’s hard to explain. Be courageous.
“We inhabit ourselves without valuing ourselves, unable to see that here, now, this very moment is sacred; but once it’s gone, its value is incontestable.”
– Joyce Carol Oates
